Tough Departures

For those of you who are able to stay at home with your children--thank your lucky stars! The hardest thing that I have had to do is say bye-bye to Hannah every morning. It's been increasingly difficult the past few days as she's had pouty lips and alligator tears as I've passed her off to be cared for while I head to work. I've held her longer, kissed her more and done all I can to spend as much time with her as possible. There's nothing worse than backing out of the driveway knowing that I won't see her smiling face or hear her giggle and laugh until the end of the day. I completely treasure our nights and weekends together and know that by working everyday I am preparing for her future and I look forward to all the memories we will make along the way.

Our Seven Month Sweetheart

I've been wanting to do a blog for Hannah for some time now, although it never seems I have the time I need to devote to it, but I thought today, being her monumental seven month birthday would be the perfect time to start.

Hannah brings us such unbelievable joy each and everyday. She has just started waving 'Hi' and gets up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth. We know it won't be long before she's zooming all around and chasing Ike everywhere! She's been rolling over for quite some time and has been eating homemade baby food for about a month--she likes them all except green beans! She is a wonderfully content baby and hardly ever fusses, she is very adaptable and will pretty much sleep anywhere (her favorite pasttime). She is a professional thumb sucker and has been putting everything in her mouth for a few months now...we're just waiting for the pearly whites to start poking through. It seems as though as each day passes she learns something new and I honestly believe that she's taught me more than I've taught her. It has been the most amazing thing to watch her grow and learn and just sit back and think--how's she know how to do that or where'd she see that? God has given us our perfect angel and there is no way that I can imagine my life without her...she is our pride and joy!

We just returned from a trip to Missouri to visit my family--Hannah was the prime attraction for her two oldest cousins and I think we could have charged admission as they both pulled up chairs to watch Hannah eat her food and drink her bottle. I cannot tell you how many times I heard "Where's Hannah". We also got to meet Hannah's newest cousin, 9 week old Emma, and we cannot wait for them to get a little older so the four girls can have such great times together.

I cannot tell you where the last seven months have gone, but I do know without a doubt that they have been the most precious, perfect seven months I've ever had.
