Caleb's New Room and Big Boy Bed!!

One of the first orders of business when moving into our new house was getting Caleb's new room ready with his big boy bed to make room for Baby T # 3!

This is the before...although the green was lovely, it didn't match Caleb or his new bedding, so it was time for a change!
Caleb and Hannah watching daddy paint one night before bed.
Here's Mommy getting into some action...at almost 8 months pregnant it was all I could do to paint the lower part and then get myself off the ground :)
Painting's done...let the sun shine in!!

Caleb in his big boy bed for the first time--they had a great time climbing in and out and jumping--until the top bunk got installed--there were a few bumped heads before they learned they couldn't jump on there anymore!

Getting there...curtains and some wall hangings and it'll be all done!
Caleb turning off his light for his first night's sleep in his big boy bed.
He only fussed a few minutes until I figured out he didn't have any of his 'lovies' in his new bed.  We went to the crib to retrieve them and he was happy to snuggle in.  The rule in our house is not to get out of bed until mommy or daddy come to get you.  We thought he would have a hard time with this, but there has not been one time that he has gotten out on his own.  Perhaps it's the blackout curtains that helps the room become pitch black or maybe he's just the best big boy ever!!
One of Caleb's favorite books is now the "Oops Book".  I think it is Red Hat, Green Hat or something, but he has the best laughs when we read this book and over-exaggerate the "Oops".  There is no better sound than the belly laughter of my children.  These truly are the memories that last a life time!

The ones I love the most...

Happy Valentine's Day!  What a great day to spend with the ones we love the most!

Hannah and Caleb checking out their loot from their party at daycare...they are set on sweets for some time!
Hannah modeling her party hat she made at daycare.
Caleb picked a sucker to eat...one of his favorite treats!
Caleb also loves balloons...they each got their own so help minimize the fighting :)
Caleb with a ring pop from Mimi and Papa...this kept him occupied for quite sometime and he enjoyed every lick!
Grandma and Grandpa stopped by after dinner to see us...

Here's Caleb patiently waiting for Grandpa to unwrap...another sucker!

Mini-Vaca

We took a mid-winter mini vacation to Surfari Joe's water park to enjoy some time together as a family and spend some time floating and playing in the water park.  Hannah and Caleb were both excited to go swimming as soon as we got there.  The water was warm, it wasn't too busy, and eveyone was happy...UNTIL, the huge elephant bucket dumped all it's water in the kiddie area.  Hannah found the screams of the kids and the sound of the water to be too much and spent about an hour with her ears covered, not wanting to go into the kid area.  So, we spent that time going around and around and around the lazy river.  Daddy convinced Hannah a few times to go in the water slides with him.  We swam for several hours--until it was time to eat and then go to bed.  Swimming sure does work up an appetite!!  The next morning we woke, had breakfast, and went swimming some more.  This time the kids were a little more willing to play in the kiddie area.  Just when we were ready to get even closer to the play area--don't you know that elephant bucket dropped it's water all over Hannah...that was the end of that for her!!  She did enjoy herself and talks about going there again.

A little construction...

As the construction business slows in the winter months, Craig found some extra time on his hands.  Time that was put to perfect use by updating the kid's bathroom.  Something that would have taken months of effort doing it on the weekends or afterwork was able to be done during the day.  This is the only room that we hadn't updated in the entire house.  Craig's attention to detail and gifts of being a skilled homeowner turned their ordinary bathroom into a beautiful, fresh, whimsical retreat!

The kid's are always fascinated with anything out of the ordinary.  They loved taking bathes in our bathroom while the construction was going on and Caleb put his skills to the test as he helped daddy out one night after school.
After he used the brush on his hair...
Right down the return duct it went!!  (After a laugh, I was able to reach and get it).
The finished product.  New paint, new wainscoting, new vanity top, new light, and new fixtures.  Craig painted the vanity, woodwork, and doors.  He even painted the stool so it would match :).

Having their first bath in their new bathroom...
Thanks, Daddy, we LOVE our new bathroom!!
